I’m a very flexible writer when it comes to genre and length of threads. However, I would implore my partners to at least approach me before beginning novella-length threads.

I’m totally down with turning memes or IC asks into threads….just as long as the responses are made into new posts instead of reblogging the ask, usually this is a good measure of knowing whether or not people have read my rules.

I work at a full-time job and I run several other blogs so patience regarding expedience of replies as well as my intermittent presence on the dash.

Personality

Mccree in many ways is the quintessential spaghetti-western archetype, a cowboy, a drifter, a gunslinger and an outlaw. Due to his ‘Lone-Ranger’-esque lifestyle, Mccree is cherishes freedom and is perfectly fine spending his days alone. Like many gruff-cowboys, Jesse rarely lets out any sort of emotional catharsis towards his friends so truly understanding his current emotional state is a trying affair. He usually abstains from getting involved in the inner-politics of Overwatch, a trait honed ever since the rivalry between Overwatch and Blackwatch attempted to pin the cowboy between two sides, a binary proposition which he refused. In a laudatory attempt to atone for his past sins as a member of the Deadlock Gang, Mccree adopts a strict moral code, only using his innate abilities with his revolver for causes he believes are just…even if Jesse doesn’t spout out virtuous platitudes towards his enemies or his teammates. There is a sense of…bravado which Mccree brings to Overwatch, constantly extolling his marksmanship and quick draw abilities when out in the field and away from it. Since Jesse Mccree is from the South-West United States, he was born with the innate Southern-charm, his accent and flattering (if not a bit too over-the-top) make him oddly like-able and charming to those he’s friends with.

Biography

Not much is known of Overwatch’s resident Cowboy gunslinger and his young life. The earliest records show that Jesse Mccree first popped on the radar as a member of the Deadlock Gang, a criminal organization specializing in trafficking illegal arms and other military hardware throughout the American Southwest, the polar opposite of the man he would later become. His aptitude for marksmanship and survivability came into great use when the Deadlock Gang were busted as part of a Overwatch sting operation. While locked in a cell, Jesse was given an ultimatum by a rather grim figure of Overwatch, Gabriel Reyes…either sit in cell to rot, or use Jesse’s skills to benefit humanity as a member of Blackwatch, a black-ops offshot of Overwatch.

Initially, Jesse’s time with Blackwatch was like a hand in glove fit as the Cowboy thrived operating without the red-tape bureaucracy of BW’s parent division, Overwatch. However, Overwatch’s popularity and power began to wane (some would argue due to BW undermining), and Blackwatch like a vulture, tried to swoop in to pick up the pieces. Despite departing from any sort of over-arching social structure, Jesse Mcree was more than happy dispensing justice throughout the United States. Without any sort of rules or commanding presence dictating how he should atone for his past sins, Jesse excelled with the freedom afforded.

After operating throughout the United States for several years, Jesse Mccree heard Winston’s call to join up with Overwatch in order to combat a new threat and the cowboy heeded the call with slight hesitation as he would likely be sacrificing his personal freedom for the well-being of the world.

Covering Jesse Mccree’s felonious days as a member for the Deadlock Gang, a notorious crime group specializing in trafficking illegal weapons and military hardware. Lacking the moral scruples his older self would later adhere to, Jesse is an outlaw, a particularity young and cynical desperado, his interactions towards virtuous individuals would likely prove a frustrating endeavor.

Given a new lease on life by the stern hands of Gabriel Reyes, Jesse Mccree now is a member of a covert-ops branch of the Overwatch brand, Blackwatch. The cowboy is determined to right the wrongs of his lawless past by righting the injustices of the world. Despite being reborn as a fighter for good, Jesse is adverse to the red-tape and bureaucracy that Overwatch seemed to have been hindered by.

Wanting no part of the civil war between Overwatch and its Black-Ops cousin, Blackwatch, Jesse Mccree set off alone and worked underground as a vigilante. Despite the unflattering designation of a gunslinger for hire, Jesse will only work for causes he believes are just.

This is the main verse for Jesse Mccree as he has been called to join Overwatch in the threat against the Talons. At the age of 37, Jesse is much wiser than the cowboy at earlier stages of his life.
